Lord
Lord
You dwell within my
heart.
You do not need me to
pray
in the language I was
born with,
for You already
understand me
through the silence
beyond all words.
You do not need to
hold my hand
to feel its warmth,
its trembling after
the storms of life.
You still understand,
and You still love me.
Lord
You do not need to
know who I am—
my skin, my hair, or
the color of my eyes.
You only know within
my heart
the red blood flows
deep and bright,
a heart longing for
peace,
for love and for
sharing.
Like all others, with
each beat and every breath,
I am a life entrusted
into Your hands.
Lord
I pray when tears
fall,
I pray when my smile
blooms like a flower.
I pray when the moon
ascends the midnight sky
and stars scatter
across the galaxy.
I pray when dawn
breaks,
and the sunlight
warms the earth.
You hear my prayer—
grant me faith,
grant me shelter,
grant me a home
filled with love.
And that home is in
You.
Lord
Thank You for saving
me and embracing me,
despite my
differences and flaws.
I am still myself,
and You still love
me.
I entrust into Your
hands
the beat of my heart,
my breath,
my life.
I love You
